Connect a Bosch GLM to Krahasso

About

When measuring up, you draw the floorplan in the Krahasso app and measure the walls with the laser. With a Bosch GLM paired, it sends every reading to the app over Bluetooth. You read nothing off and type nothing in.

What it does

  • Sends the wall measurement from the laser straight into the floorplan
  • Records per wall whether it was measured or typed in by hand
  • Asks first when a reading is much longer than the wall as drawn
  • Works without internet, in the basement too

How it works

The laser connects to the app over Bluetooth. You select the wall in the floorplan and press the measure button on the laser. The value is applied at once, and Krahasso calculates areas, wall areas and volume from it.

Requirements

  • A Krahasso account with the Krahasso app on an iPhone, iPad or Android device
  • A supported Bosch laser measure with Bluetooth
  • Bluetooth switched on at the phone or tablet and allowed for Krahasso

Krahasso connects to the current Bosch lasers that use Bluetooth Low Energy.

These models use the same radio protocol and connect to the app. We have not yet checked them on hardware. If you notice anything on a model, write to us.

Not supported

GLM 50 C, GLM 100 C and older models. They use the older Bluetooth Classic, which the app does not use.

Setup

  1. 1 Switch the laser on and enable Bluetooth on the device.
  2. 2 Switch Bluetooth on at your phone or tablet.
  3. 3 In the Krahasso app, open the project and its floorplan.
  4. 4 Tap Laser. The app searches for devices nearby.
  5. 5 Choose your laser from the list. The app says which device it is connected to.
  6. 6 Select the wall you want to measure.
  7. 7 Press the measure button on the laser. The value is applied to the wall.

FAQ

Which Bosch models work?
The GLM 50-27 CG is tested on hardware. The other listed models use the same radio protocol and connect as well, but are not yet checked on hardware. GLM 50 C, GLM 100 C and older models are not supported.
Do I also need an app from Bosch?
No. The laser connects directly to the Krahasso app. If it is connected to another app at the moment, disconnect it there first, or Krahasso will not find it.
What happens when a reading cannot be right?
If the value is much longer than the wall as drawn, the app asks whether you want to apply or discard it. A failed measurement is not entered.
Can I work without a laser?
Yes. You can type measurements in by hand at any time. The wall then records that the value was typed, not measured.
